Ten Interview Questions for The Next Big Thing:
Q:What is the working title of your book?
A: Heated Calls From Change Book #3 of the Dearhart Clan Series
Q:Where did the idea come from for the book?
A: The original premise behind the series started back in June of 2011. It was then that I answered a call out for short stories of a paranormal nature to be placed under one jacket along with multiple authors. They were looking for a 15,000 word limit and although mine was rejected on the basis it was not what they were looking for, I took the idea and started a series that increased in length with each preceding book into the series.
Q:What genre does your book fall under?
A: This question is most definitely under debate (lol). Since I am a nontraditional author, I do not follow most guidelines. Therefore, my books classifications often wonder to a loosely based origin consisting of dark primal paranormal fantasies.
Q: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
A: At this point, I can honestly say I have never thought about it. I think if I were chosen to pick the actual faces, I might turn to my readers and ask them to choose.
Q:What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A: Set free among us they walked along in our world, left to unfurl within the night where they hid their deepest darkest secrets in a quest for what had been lost and now can only be found within the lustful pelts that merge forth as their sought after unions are left spent.
Q: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
A: Most definitely self-published. I am very proud to be an indie author which allows me to wear all the work on my very own sleeves (as well as the oops that may follow…lol)
Q:How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
A: I had average three to six months per each book, just on the writing alone. However, this past year as created a few obstacles for me. Therefore, this last book took me around nine months to write due to my stop and go progress (lol).
Q: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
A: Every book should be opened without hesitation and without fear of recounting a prior tale. Therefore, with that in mind I would hope that my telling is something very different and wish that it would not take away from another’s great adventurous read.
Q: Who or What inspired you to write this book?
A: The blank page has always inspired me more than anything has. For within its never ending borders lies the clearest of peaks in which to rise.
Q: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
A: Far darker than the prior two books of the Dearhart Clan Series, Heated Calls From Change, dives deeper into a world where ‘ever after’ does not seem to exist.

What an interesting post, Eri.
This sounds like an excellent series and I wish you the very best of luck with it.
I like the way you refuse to be classified into a commercial genre – I find the same about my stories – they just will not slot neatly into one genre or another. Publishers don’t like this (because they are all too cowardly in my opinion) so it’s another excellent reason to self-publish and let the reader decide.

Thank you Lyn,
My refusal is what started the whole revamp of my own site http://www.dearharts.com. This blog is just a small piece of a wider explanation of me…lol
I see myself as a nontraditional author. For me conforming to a standard or let alone a genre would mean loosing what makes me an unorthodox author. I guess plainly said I like my shoes and how I fill them out as I write. I just hope that will come across to readers and perhaps inspire them to continue on in the read.
